Would you want to be friends, or housemates, with yourself?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for August 22, 2007:
No, not at all! Oh, I don't mean to say that there's anything wrong with me. I'm a nice guy, caring, compassionate and loyal. I enjoy a clean and interesting home with fun things to do.
However, what I enjoy most about friends and roommates is the fact that they AREN'T me. They're different in nearly every way and that's what makes them interesting to me. I use people to expand my horizons. A friend or roommate like me... would be boring.

i love your response and i totally agree with you! i've learned a lot from past roommates (even if it was simply that i never want to live with people like them ever again, haha), and my friends offer daily insights, from good conversation to just observing the the way they live their lives, simply because they're NOT me. i mean, i'd make a good friend or roommate, but i'd rather not live with me, if given the choice. although strangely enough, i do love living alone. go figure.. *smirk*
